Dr Nadia Northway PhD BA DBO

Director



Dr Northway has been treating reading problems for 15 years. She is a part-time lecturer at Glasgow Caledonian University. She is a registered Orthoptist with the HPC and has a degree in Educational studies. Her PhD investigated visual problems in dyslexia. She has been developing assessment and treatment protocols for reading difficulty. She works with a wide range of professionals and receives referrals from Optometrists, Orthoptists, Educational Psychologists, GPs, Teachers, Occupational Therapists and from parents and patients who self refer. Her aim is to rehabilitate reading where possible and if no visual problems are found to give advice about the next step in care.


Mrs  Janice Waterson Wilson BSc

Lead Clinician



Janice has been working with Nadia for 8 years. She is an integral member of the team at Glasgow Caledonian University eye clinic and manages the Eaglesham and Bothwell Clinics for Rainbow Readers. She is currently working towards her PhD in eye movements. She is registered as an Orthoptist with the HPC. She was co winner for the award for excellence and has many years experience in working with reading difficulty. She also works part time in the NHS.

Gillian Smith

Administrator and Appointments Secretary

Gillian has been working for Rainbow Readers  for 2 years. She keeps us all organised and is the friendly voice on the phone
